Sub:  Fixing designated day ie., 27^th June of Every Year as “ DISHA FOUNDATION DAY “ to energize functioning of DISHA  committees across INDIA.

  Sir, On 27^th June 2016,  the Union Government has announced formation of “ DISHA COMMITTEE “ at each District level for effective monitoring/implementation and co-ordination of Govt of India  programs and Schemes,  together with the conjunction of State Government Schemes and Programs.

As per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Rural Development, Govt of India, it is mandated that, DISHA COMMITTEE meetings should be held once in quarter.  In this context, curious look at the validated data as to how many meetings have been conducted in every District across India. 

Though as per the existing data, it is observed that India has 738 Districts in one report and another stated as 718 Districts.  But as per the validated document, there are 697 District DISHA committees are now functioning.  The details of DISHA committee meetings held are mentioned as under,

In order to gear up the DISHA committees to increase the no of meetings in every Financial Year and also for speedy implementation/monitoring of the Schemes and Programs, as a member of State Level DISHA Committee,  has a suggestion to recognize and reward the well performed District DISHA Committees by ranking / grading.   The Appropriate Officers of such well performed Committees have to be honored / appreciated on every year on a designated day.  For this purpose, It is requested to celebrate “ DISHA FOUNDATION DAY “ on  27^th June  Every Year and reward  such Officers.

 Hence, I request your kind selves to consider my suggestion to declare 27^th June of every Year as DISHA FOUNDATION DAY enabling to honor highly performed District DISHA committees in order to achieve the Objective behind the formation of District DISHA COMMITTEES.
